Communications
As part of our expanding communication plan this year, we are also sending out a daily golf information sheet to those on the tee sheet. While we are mindful of not inundating you with emails, for those playing each day, with a 10 second glance, it should provide you with a helpful update of activities each day.
Hole in One Fund
We are making a slight change to how we charge members for the hole in one fund. Historically, we charged your account $1 each time there was a hole in one. Last year we had an inordinately high number of “aces” and many members noted it’s somewhat of a nuisance to see these reoccurring charges, sometimes multiple times each month, on their accounts. Administratively this is also an inefficient use of our time.
As a result, we will charge your account $10 after the first hole in one of the year. Once the fund is depleted, we will charge an additional $10. At the end of the season, any funds remaining in the account will carry over until next season. For your information, we normally have about 10 hole in ones each season.
2023 Canadian Mid-Amateur Championship
Planning for the Championship is well underway, and Susan Quigley is doing a fantastic job as Chair. Richard Carl has been instrumental in fulfilling our sponsorship goals and our committee are working diligently on ensuring we are organized and prepared for the event.
As hosts of the event, Mad River receives one sponsors exemption for the event and Kristy Henry has been selected as our representative. Kristy is a multiple winner of our Club Championship, is an outstanding player and will be a terrific representative of the Club, and I suspect she’ll be right in the Championship mix on the final day!
Good Luck Kristy, we’ll all be cheering for you!
