As we continue recovering from the irrigation project, our current turf management strategy is focused on maximizing the establishment and recovery of the extensive sod that has been installed throughout the property.
To support this recovery, we are maintaining higher-than-normal soil moisture levels, particularly on the fairways. While this may result in softer playing conditions than golfers are accustomed to, keeping the turf adequately hydrated is essential to encourage strong rooting, reduce transplant stress, and improve the long-term success of the newly laid sod.
In addition to increased irrigation, we have implemented an enhanced fertility program across all affected areas. The fairways, tees, rough, and other disturbed turf areas contain numerous sections of new sod that require additional nutrients to promote establishment, improve density, and accelerate recovery. This increased fertility will help the turf knit together more quickly and return to a consistent, healthy playing surface.
These practices are temporary but necessary as we work through the final stages of recovery from the irrigation project. Our objective is to establish a strong, healthy turf stand that will provide superior playing conditions for the remainder of the season and well into the future. As the sod becomes fully established, we will gradually reduce irrigation and fertility inputs and return to our standard maintenance program.
It has been a long year of irrigation install and growing in of, not only these two greens but all of the golf course bunkers as well as 12 fairway and tees. We thank you for your patience and look forward to some terrific golf ahead.
Looking forward to seeing you on the golf course!
Respectfully,
Chad Vibert
