Ladies Captain's Report

8/2/2026

The first Tips & Sips was a great success, with 18 ladies joining Ryan, Marshall, and Stephanie for an evening of learning and fun. The groups rotated to different holes around the course, where they picked up valuable techniques for handling some of the tricky situations we find ourselves in. After sharpening their skills, everyone enjoyed time together to socialize and sip afterwards. Our next Tips & Sips is on August 27!

If you are wondering if you should sign up for the Club Championship which takes place on August 14 and 15, the answer is YES! There are 2 rounds, and the good news is you can pick from 3 different flights offered.
- Option 1 - Choose the Stableford option if you want to be part of the weekend fun, play golf but don’t feel that counting all strokes and putting everything in the hole is your cup of tea. When you hit your max on a hole (net double bogey), you pick up and look to the next hole! This option allows you to accumulate Stableford points based on your score but there is no pressure and no stress.
- Option 2 - Choose the stroke play (putt everything out) and play from the red tees.
- Option 3 - Choose the Champ flight stroke play (putt everything out) and play from the purple tees. The Club Champion will come from this flight.

All flights are eligible to be the Net Club Champion.

There is something for everyone. One of the best parts is the shootout/horserace on Thursday, August 13th at 4:15pm. You will be partnered with another player signed up to play the weekend event and it’s a casual, alternate shot in a relaxed atmosphere. Each hole (except for the first) eliminates pairings based on the high score for the hole until there is one team left! We have music, carts, choices of beverage and pros in attendance to organize the fun! As we once told our kids, “Give it a try, you might like it!”

Members have shared concerns about tee time access and pace of play this season, and we completely understand. Everyone wants to enjoy their round at a preferred time and an acceptable pace which is targeted at 4 hours and 15 minutes for 18 holes. An update on tee time access was shared in the July 21st Mad Post, and we are now addressing concerns about pace of play. For a week, beginning August 7 to August 13, each tee time’s duration of round will be shared with members. This will help show that pace can vary throughout the day for several reasons. Carl will be monitoring results and looking at what may have contributed to the slower pace (if any) and discuss ways to improve this going forward. After one week of data, next steps will be determined. Our hope is that by making players aware, sharing this information and supporting groups where needed, we can continue to improve pace of play for everyone. Golf can be unpredictable, as we all know and sometimes a round might take a little longer than expected but our hope is that all members will benefit from this trial period and shared data.
